Forget the lukewarm Sunday-night erotica and the mainstream porn that saturates our screens: feminist porn, or ethical porn (whatever the label), offers a completely different take on our bodies and desires — imperfect, singular, deeply human.
It's a movement that puts women — their pleasure and their voice — back at the centre of the story. The desires and limits of actresses and actors alike are respected, whether in soft or hardcore, and the scenes filmed come closer to reality: natural, sometimes clumsy, but true.
It's also a kind of porn that refuses degradation. No reducing women to objects: she is the agent of her own desire — heard, involved, never subjected to a male gaze tinged with misogyny. It would be wise for the platforms offering this kind of content (or the production companies) to spell out what makes their productions ethical and feminist. That would be hugely helpful in informing consumers looking to support an adult entertainment platform that respects everyone.
