Feminist porn actress, intimacy coordinator and spokesperson for prostitutes, Maria Riot uses her body and experience to defend her convictions. She boldly breaks down taboos about prostitution, campaigns for dignified working conditions and demands equal rights. Discover how this woman turned her career in the porn industry into a political platform.
Who is Maria Riot?
Born on September 12, 1991 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Maria Riot is an adult film actress and intimacy coordinator.
From an early age, Maria was interested in the world of sexuality. She nurtures this curiosity through Amarna Miller’s blog, Erika Lust’s videos and CrashPad Series. Convinced that a “traditional job” wasn’t for her, she decided to apply to producers and companies she admired. In 2015, she became a performer for Erika Lust, a leading figure in ethical and feminist porn.
Following a bad experience on a film set, Maria turned to the profession of intimacy coordinator. Her professionalism and commitment quickly won her the job. Today, Maria’s ambition is to direct her own X-rated film… a matter to be followed…

Politicizing sex
Maria Riot attributes poor working conditions in prostitution to a lack of regulation. She therefore calls for equal rights and protection for sex workers. She also denounces the stigmatization of these professionals and their clients, as well as the excessive use of the terms “human trafficking” and “pimping”. Since 2016, she has been defending their rights within AMMAR (Asociacion Mujeres Meretrices de la Argentina).
For Maria Riot, working in independent porn is a unique opportunity to combine her political convictions with her creativity.
“I think everything can be political. If we give meaning, if we act differently, we can change things.”
So it’s in the field that she ensures respectful and safe working conditions for her colleagues on a daily basis. She stresses the importance of consent, open communication and a safe working environment. In fact, since #MeToo, even Hollywood has asked for privacy coordinators to oversee the filming of love scenes.
“For me, porn is both my work and my way of fighting in this world that wants to police, control, curb, normalize our sexualities and our bodies.”
Every project Maria undertakes becomes an act of resistance. In an industry marred by abuse, she proposes a renewed vision of pornography: transparent, ethical and deeply respectful.
