Amateur porn: a return to authenticity?

Porn is ethical when it puts consent at the heart of everything. A clear and assertive “yes”, before, during and after. Nothing is left to doubt or chance. Limits are set beforehand and respected. Not just because it’s the law, but because it’s the basis of healthy sexuality.

Porn is also ethical when it fairly remunerates those involved. Even in an amateur setting, if the content is broadcast and subject to monetization, the question of remuneration cannot be ignored. Finally, porn is considered ethical when it departs from stereotypical representations: systematic male domination, absence of condoms, simulated female orgasms, trivialized violence. It’s not about watering everything down! Rather, it’s about showing multiple sexualities, while leaving room for the unexpected, for gentleness, for playfulness and for the full complexity of desire.
